This is 50: A birthday Celebration

It's no secret I am the older one in this relationship. I feel like I've been in my 50s for a very long time... six years is a long time right?

I planned to have a get together with some of our friends to honour this milestone. I had asked him a few times what would you really like for your birthday. It's a big milestone so I wanted it to feel special. I could tell from his responses when I would ask that he wasn't overly excited about the options I threw out except for when I mentioned going to a hockey game. There was that little spark he sometimes gets in his eyes...but alas he still said no. I, however, became a bit of a nag about it because I felt in my gut that was what he truly wanted to do. We had already been to Montreal for a game twice, and we both have very fond memories of our time spent there. One of those times happened to be a decade ago for his 40th birthday. Heading there again for his 50th certainly wouldn't be considered original but if it's what his heart desires I'm all in!

I was so happy he was able to do something that HE wanted to do in honour of  his 50th. Truly. Happy.

He has shared more than once he likes it when I make him cards. So I made his 50th birthday card to coordinate with the T-shirt I purchased for him off of Etsy (he was a sport and wore it out too!).

To my husband who never ceases to amaze me.

Thank you for who you are and all that you do. You deserve the best, and I hope you'll have it all, beginning with this special 50th celebration in Montreal.
